I was born Justin Mermelstein in Jersey City, NJ in 1986. I have worked more jobs than I am years old. I write. And paint. And draw. As with every other creative person in the history of the world, I started all of this as a young child.
Everything in the writing world can be so molded and cut and dry. A novel has a genre. It's classified by word count. I don't want that. I want to tell stories without a finite piece of wrapping paper waiting for me to tie a nifty bow on it and move on to the next. My first episodic novel, Glimpse, hit me like a ton of bricks while I was driving home from work one day. I fell in love with the idea.
I've always been a fan of mixing mediums. Paint and marker. Pencil and ink. Words and pictures. In between writing projects, visual arts take command. I always have something going on and new material to put out. Next on the agenda is a book of short stories, a novella series, a new series of paintings, and a children's book. As it goes with any other artist with severe mental issues, there are plenty of other projects in the brain bank.
