Deborah Leitch has been a practicing Registered Nurse for over 30 years. Caring for patients in their last moments of life, she often reflected upon life energy and where it goes when it is no longer needed by the body. That reflection and the question: “Where does your energy go when you die?” formed the impetus for her first novel: Heaven’s Gate.
Deborah was born and grew up in Miramichi, New Brunswick. She currently resides with her husband and son in a small town in central Alberta. In addition to being an author, nurse, mother, wife, photographer and avid flower gardener, she is a horse enthusiast. She loves reading all kinds of fiction but was particularly influenced by Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Robin Cook and James Redfield. Her work marries spirituality and philosophy with medical drama, science, adventure, and possibility. Her stories have underlying themes and morals that cause the reader to pause in reflection She loves to challenge common thinking with the question, ‘what if....?’
