I agree with Howard; this is fantastic!! This is the only novel I have ever read which tells so much about genuine Christmas & Halloween characters. The plot is gripping and the character development is masterly.

This is a fantastic read. I wonder why the previous reader had given a low rating! The grammar is neither terrible, nor the punctuation so bad as the last reviewer claimed. Anyway, he/she shouldn't have written the review if he/she hadn't read more than 2 pages! This novel would definitely keep you hooked till the very end.

This is terrible. I could not read more than two pages. The grammar is terrible and the punctuation is just as bad. Also, I am curious as to why several of the people who gave five star reviews reviewed this work more than once?

Very intelligently written. It sure offers a lot of surprises, but in the end, everything makes sense. It felt like a roller coaster ride at times, which pumps much adrenaline in your blood. Surely, someday, it will appear on the big-screen (after all it has some resemblance to 'Shrek' and 'Pirates of Caribbean' and Harry Potter)

Excellent reading. I heard somewhere that a writer takes help of lies to bring out the truth. It is amazing how characters like Santa Claus and Krampus and Jack (the pumpkin king of Halloween) can still fascinate us. It offers a new perspective. Small children to YAs to grown ups can all find pleasure in reading this.

Scenes are set around the globe-a truly 'east meets west' YA novel. I loved reading about Chinese vampires and competition of Indian ghosts. The writer is a master of inter-weaving a tight plot, and an uncanny ability to bring out our hidden desires.

Very addictive. I fully agree with all reviews. The villain (devil himself) is very strong character, and so is the protagonist. I suppose, half of the charm of the story is due to the unusual choice of the protagonist/hero (whom we suppose is a bad guy) but ultimately I got very emotionally attached and even cheered for him.

Excellent storyline. Character and world building is fantastic (and what's more striking is all of them are genuine Christmas characters/Halloween creatures). Strong protagonist (though he is a dark hero).

A top read for anyone in search of new ideas for Christmas or Halloween. I really doubt if any book can match with this regarding above festivals. This novel is in veins of 'NIghtmare before Christmas (movie)' and written in Harry Potter style.

Beautifully written, and sometimes very emotional book. We feel deep compassion and empathy for the 'pumpkin king' of Halloween, whom we previously hated as a supposed bad guy. Author's deep compassion is addictive. He clearly brings out the human side of Jack, passionately. A real emotional experience.

While reading about bullying Mrs. Santa Claus and her henpecked husband Mr. Santa, I simply couldn't stop laughing. But while reading about the horrible treatment meted out by Devil's henchmen, I bit my fingernails with tension. Such an amazing balance of conflict, humor, suspense, thrill and adrenaline pumping action!

Ever heard of Krampus or Mr. Jingeling (the keeper of keys to Santa Claus' workshops) or Baba Yaga (the Russian witch whose fence are decorated with human skulls)? Probably you have. But you definitely don't know them (and many others) unless you read this!!

I wonder how many years of hard research has been put into writing this superb YA novel. So many amazing facts, so many relevant folklore; and most amazing of all is that all are tightly fitted into a single story. The writer definitely knows his craft. Hats off!
