He didn't have to speak to the strange new girl. He didn't have to try to befriend her or find out her secrets. But for some reason, he did. Maybe droughts just make people a little crazy.

About T.C. Beckett

Most writers are born from readers, and I'm no exception. My parents read to me every night when I was a little kid, and when I was old enough to read by myself, I quickly went through book after book. I thrilled in each new experience, escaping to other worlds and meeting interesting people. Now I'm trying to recreate those experiences for other people as a writer. I write mainly speculative fiction, and with every work I create I strive to immerse and entertain.

Currently I live in the southeast (born and raised), where I am attending professional school.

I am normally not a big fan of short stories, but I really enjoyed this one! The story really draws you in and it has a unique basis.
