Mellyssa Angel Diggs is an american graphic designer, thinker, illustrator, idea generator, avid music lover, singer/songwriter, part geek, semi-professional business woman, tennis enthusiast, and an overall multi-talented women living in Pennsylvania. She received her BS from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania and is currently working her her Master’s at Philadelphia University.
At a young age she developed her passion for art. She says “It’s somewhat genetic. Everyone in my family wanted or used to draw and create art at some point but never wanted to pursue it. I am the only one who is”.
“I didn’t get into design to be an artist. To me, an artist creates things to evoke emotion. Being a designer goes a step further than that, not only trying to evoke emotion but trying to make a reaction. It is very objective driven, and that’s what makes it interesting.”
Inspired by the culture of music, Japanese culture, and style… Mellyssa set out to pursue her career as a graphic designer. Graduating from Chester High School in 2008 with honor, Summa Cum Laude, she went immediately to grab as much knowledge on art, design, style, music, and culture. Mellyssa believe that “Everything revolves around culture. Everything was influence by something and I want create art that appeals to ones culture and meaning of life”
Mellyssa has big dreams and goals that could take her anywhere. She is as persistent as they come, and a perfectionist with an eye for detail. She plans on achieving everything she sets her mind to.
After Mellyssa completes her Master’s in Interactive Design she will go on to finally having her own graphic design business.
On her spare time, Mellyssa is a working class citizen at two retail place based in Pennsylvania to make ends meet. Plus her other passions for music and singing, poetry, and photography whenever she gets the chance.
“I always had this mind set that I can do anything and everything. I know, realistically, that I can’t but I do believe that I can do anything I set my mind to. I decided to become a graphic designer selfishly to not allow people to do things for me but unselfishly to pass along my concept that anything is possible even when it is or could be impossible and to bring creativity and possibilities to the minds and hearts of people around the world.”
