About Johnny Luk

Johnny is the UK's youngest Chief Executive Officer of a seven digit non-profit company, leading the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE). He is also a Fellow in the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Institute of Directors.

Before, he was a Senior Policy Advisor in the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, focusing on asset management and then the Deputy Head of Strategic Operations for Entrepreneurship in UK Trade & Investment, leading a six country investment roadshow in Europe. He also founded Inspired & Hired, a social initiative. Johnny was awarded Runner Up of the Perm Sec Award by Vince Cable for his achievements in Government.

He is the author of 'The Grad Job Game', a book on jobs success, which was serialised by 'The Chinese Weekly' and was in the inaugural Diaspora Leadership Programme, where he was mentored by Lord Wei. Johnny is in the 'Visible Chinese' index for high achievers in British Chinese culture.

Johnny graduated from Durham University and briefly worked in KPMG. He also taught in Silver Tree Primary School, improving grades by 30% in one term.

He was awarded a dissertation prize on colorectal cancer and graduated with a Natural Sciences degree in Biology, Business and Geography. Johnny was the Representative Chair in Durham University and its former Livers' Out Officer. He also won the 'Durham Award' for his community service.

Passionate in sports, Johnny was the 2009 National Schools Rowing Gold Medallist and Captain of Rowing. He has a boat named in his honour. At school he was a Senior Prefect and interim House Captain. He is the two-time House Champion in Debating and recipient of the Junior Debating Prize. At the age of 8, he won the junior regional checkers championships in the Netherlands.

Johnny lived in 4 countries, can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin and has an interest in writing, smiling and meeting passionate people.
