The short version is that I'm a Life Writer. Although I mainly write poetry and prose, I don't limit myself to a certain style nor a certain subject. I write about what I can relate to or if I can mirror someone else's experiences.
This site serves as a restart for me, since I was in the writing/poetry community before, but certain events of that day caused me to stay out for a while. Many years have gone by and I am ready to start again.
I look forward to interacting with many of the talents here as well as reading some good works.
As my pseudonym, Queen of Spades, I've been writing since the age of 11. I made my Internet poetry debut in the mid 1990's at Fireseek (later renamed Urban Poetic), then branched out to participate in International House of Poets as well as venture into spoken word with talents featured at Vocalized Ink, House of Ra, and Prysmatic Dreams .
During my tenure as member turned administrator at Urban Poetic, I hosted a poetry collective, Soulful Branches: Simply Words with accompanying CD, Soulful Branches: Words and Sounds.
I published my first collection of poetry, Spaded Truth(1st edition) , in 2005, soon followed by my second collection of poetry, Private Pain (1st edition) , in 2006.
After about a seven year hiatus, I am rediscovering the process of sharing my work again on a larger scale. I launched Reflections of Soul in May 2013 and have been getting very positive reviews from here and Amazon.
Eclectic: Skin Edition and Eclectic: Beyond the Skin are two collection set to be released September 2013.
In addition, I will also be re-launching editions of Spaded Truths and Private Pain as well as comprising a collection of short stories, Continuous Drips (working title), which should be out towards the end of 2014.
January 2013, I decided to launch a site called The Review Board . The Review Board is designed to not only provide reviews (primarily focus is up and coming writers and artists) but to also provide helpful feedback that will help them improve their craft. I invite any writer here who wants extensive reviews done on their work to check out The Review Board and see what it can do for you.
