Reggie Rocketship is the luckiest boy in San Francisco. He’d discovered a Dr. Seuss handwritten story in his house. He was the luckiest boy until two thieves showed up to steal the exquisitely handwritten tale. Dr. Seuss had written over 60 stories, and Reggie realized that the one he’d found was a precursor to his most famous one, undiscovered and unpublished. Reggie enlisted his friend Penelope Star to help him protect the story and defend his family from the thieves.

In Reggie’s backyard sat his rocketship playhouse, the neighbor’s dog Byte, Penelope Star and two thieves hiding behind a tree, ready to kidnap the children and steal the Dr. Seuss story for their employer. Reggie with Penelope and Byte prove to be excellent Cat in the Hat investigators, and with the help of Reggie’s parents and the FBI they design several plans to apprehend the thieves, keep the story and fly away in Reggie’s rocketship.
