I thoroughly enjoyed "Leave of Absence", and read it in two days over the weekend, in between being a single father/chauffer for my two teen-aged children. The story struck a nerve for me, as my daughter's name is Katie (same as in the book)and the hero is also a single father. The book was very hard to put down, as Mr. Moore has created a very believable story, with excellent characters, and superb supporting detail. I would highly recommend this book and look forward to future releases from Mr. Moore.

This is a thriller with all the twists and turns. I like the fast pace at which it moves. Very good read.

Bravo!
I finished this book in one week. It was a great page turner and was hard to put down. It was very 24 meets Patriot Games, which I loved. Moore's book is fast paced, interesting and well written. I loved it. I can't wait to read his next book.

I have read several books from smashwords, those participating in the "operation ebook" program, and this by far has been the best. A fast paced, interesting and exciting story. Well written and a pleasure to read. Thanks Mr Moore for your participation in the program and look forward to reading more of your stories in the future.

"Leave of Absence weaves a tale of riveting intrigue. I literally could not put the book down. The characters are so real you feel as if you know them. The descriptions are so realistic you feel like you are part of the story. I cannot wait for Doug Moore's next book!"

“Leave of Absence” is a thriller that holds your attention, beginning to end.

Mr. Moore gives you characters that hold your interest, characters you like and those you despise. When I read a “thriller”, I want to feel that the writer has been there and knows his material. I didn’t see anything in Mr. Moore’s bio, but I would find it easy to believe that he is ex-law enforcement, maybe in a federal branch. He takes you behind closed doors. You learn procedure and protocols. Secret Service, FBI, local police…..it’s quite journey.

The story has what we all want in these times, “A no nonsense president” or POTUS, as he is referred to in this nerve wracking tale. When I truly enjoy a book, I feel grateful to the author. So, thank you, Mr. Moore.
