About Gary T. Dinkin

Gary Dinkin is a serial entrepreneur with numerous failures and successes under his belt. No stranger to life’s obstacles, he has persisted through the highs and lows of everyday life, even when the lows were frequent and the brass ring of fame kept slipping from his grasp.

Since 2000 he has been CEO and founder of SmartClixx, the world’s largest self-hosted, closed-loop, stored-value gift card software company. His clients produce billions of dollars annually in gift card sales and merchandise credits in their stores and over the web. His unique financial model revolutionized the gift card industry.

Dinkin’s commitment to customer satisfaction, his penchant for micromanagement, and his “boot-strapping” mentality made him successful in a “David vs. Goliath” industry. He is a past winner of Transaction World’s “Movers and Shakers” Award and holds numerous patents.

He has two daughters and two dogs, and he and his wife, Lindy, split their time between the East and West Coasts.

I really enjoyed the way this guy writes. For a CEO, he doesn't sound stuffy or condescending the way you would think someone with that kind of success would. The whole book Gift Card Guy sounds like you are talking to some guy on a plane for a couple of hours, and at the end you think to yourself, WOW, what an amazing person, I'm really lucky I sat down next to him I actually learned a lot. Easy Read!

Loved this book! I am in the beauty industry and it made me realize that I am not ready to go out on my own. It was an entertaining quick read but when I realized what Gary Dinkin had to go through to getting on top, I knew that I wasn't cut out to do the same. At least not yet. I recommend this book to everybody that is thinking about starting a business of their own. Beth
