Just too short. The story had so much more to it that it really needed to be a full-length novel. A short story is too confining to depict a romance from beginning to end. There were a lot of cool possibilities in this story-wise but it almost feels like a summary of a larger book. I like Healy's style and he obviously has love for the superhero genre, he is a very good writer but this story needed to be longer. It's a great primer for Healy's style and makes me want to check out his other works.

Healy depicts this historical romance with all the color and passion of its Golden Age time period.
