The Wishing Well

Rated 5.00/5 based on 1 reviews
Being a middle school exchange student is hard enough for Pavel. Add to that the constant bullying and it’s almost too much. Until the night he finds the wishing well. But the wording of a wish is a tricky thing. Pavel didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt - much less die. When someone turns up who knows about the wishing well, Pavel thinks help has finally arrived. But he’s wrong.

Review by: Michael D. Britton on March 30, 2011 :
Schibi has a way of really sucking you in. This story creates powerful feelings of tension and keeps the suspense right up to the very end. The characters are well-developed in just a few words. The Wishing Well seems to me like it could really be worked into a series or, better yet, a novel that tracks the full history of Harrison, his victims, and the mysterious truth of the wishing well itself. I look forward to reading more stories by David Schibi.
