Episode 1 : To Touch the Ground
In the year 2150, the human race found itself on the brink of extinction. Earth was overcrowded and resources depleted. Pollution was out of control. Then the alien race, the Otruk, arrived and brought radical new technologies with them. The orbiting space stations were built with space elevators tethered to the ground with massive woven fibers of carbon nanotubes. Humans left the surface of the Earth to live in the space stations with the promise that they would return after the Otruk’s cleaning technology rejuvenated the surface. The Otruk broke their promise, though, and refused to let humans back to the surface. In 2350, the human race launched their war to reclaim their home.
Now, Trip McElory and his teenage friends rush to complete training in the armored bio-mechanical suits before the assault to recapture Earth begins. They must compete in a series of final exercises pitting cadet against cadet in order to graduate. Ven Rodan has eyes set on humiliating Trip and his squad, though, in his drive to graduate top of the class. Trip and his squad mates must pull together and work as a team if they are going to overcome Ven’s unrestrained ambition.
Episode 2 : The Darkness Within
The Otruk have launched a surprise attack against Foothold, the fortress city surrounding the tether point of the space elevator. Trip and his squad must now make an emergency descent to the surface to reinforce and defend Foothold from the onslaught of the Otruk, who are intent on driving humanity off the surface. Anxiety runs high in the squad as they prepare to enter battle. Little does Trip know that the true test arrives in the aftermath of the battle where he must come to terms with the consequences of the destruction he has wrought.
Episode 3 : Seeking the Enemy
Having successfully repulsed the Otruk assault against the fortress city Foothold, the EDF has now ordered a sweep of the jungle. The mobile missile platforms harassing the space elevator must be taken out so the EDF can continue the war effort. Trip's platoon must now venture into the jungle after the Otruk, where fighting in close quarters favors the enemy.
Meanwhile, Silvy's return causes tension within the squad as her gratefulness to Trip for saving her life causes a jealous rift with Rad with deadly consequences.
Episode 4 : Face-to-Face
Trapped in a sinkhole, Trip McElory comes face to face with the enemy known as the Otruk Orchid. Without their battle suits, Trip and the Orchid engage in a cat and mouse game of survival, each seeking the upper hand. But survival depends on the two sworn enemies putting aside their differences and working together to escape their predicament. The slippery cavern walls are the least of their difficulties, though, as they grapple with their conflicting emotions over the war.
Episode 5 : Home, In Exile
Trip returns to Foothold to find Ven and his crew have been merged with his old squad. Worse, Ven has been appointed as the new squad leader. As Trip comes to terms with this new predicament, Anuja confronts him about his mysterious ancestry and presents Trip with the opportunity to pilot a prototype battlesuit, enhanced to fight the Otruk aliens on equal footing. Self-doubt and fear grip Trip as he struggles with the thought of fighting the Otruk Orchid, Elise, on the battlefield again.
Episode 6 : Adaptation
The Liberator sets forth from Foothold, crushing everything in its path; its destination the Otruk city of Macapa, on the coast. Trip's troubles piloting the prototype X-37 Reclaimer battlesuit continue as he tries to master the alien biology. Fearful for his safety, Ella desperately tries to dissuade Trip from piloting the suit, while Anuja pressures him otherwise. Despite Ella's pleas, Trip feels obligated to use the prototype with disastrous results.
