Bryan Reeves is a man who’s never heard of synesthesia, though he’s lived with the condition all his life. Dismissed at an early age as being given to odd behavior, he’s kept it a secret and guards what he says. Then comes the day Bryan meets Kathy Bentley and is forced to consider someone else's sanity for a change. But nothing comes easy, least of all deserving love, in two worlds so different. More

Oh my God. What a wonderful book. I'd never even HEARD of Synesthesia before reading this! How's that possible! It was romantic, sad, uplifting and romantic ... all in one! Did I mention it was romantic? Well, it was!!! A must read. Can't wait 'til your next one, James!

I absolutely loved this book!

I fell in love with Bryan and Kathy right from the beginning as James showed the intimate details which draw these two characters together. It has a sweet innocence and naivety that lends itself to a terribly romantic story that forgoes the details that make all our hearts beat faster.

The intimacy of The Leaving Tree quickly drew me inside as I rooted for Bryan and Kathy and began promising myself, “Just one chapter more.” Soon they both felt like they were my friends too and I forgot clothes needed folding, pets needed feeding, and dinner could wait a bit longer.

If you like books that leave you smiling or crying at the end of each chapter, then The Leaving Tree is one book you should definitely consider picking up.

My only wish is that it didn’t have to end.
