Description

A short story (1,650 words) about a young man's utilization of several items left to him by his older brother as a means to escape his father's bigotry. Some adult language and implied sexual situations, but nothing overt. This story first appeared in the Fall 2006 issue of the literary magazine The First Line.

An interesting, slightly melancholy slice-of-life short story with a sympathetic lead character and a satisfying, dignified conclusion which ties up all the loose ends very well.
