About J. Kirsch

I write about strong heroines who face tough obstacles and work with what they have, often using humor as a deadly weapon. In my fantasy novels sometimes that involves destroying six-eyed monsters, cruel sorcerers, or the occasional vengeful imp, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. I live and adventure in the Carolinas with a fearless spouse and noticeably cute canine. As a librarian I promote fantasy and science fiction to readers of all stripes, usually with excellent results. I am also a member of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America.

An innocent young woman on an adventure in one of the most dangerous places in space. Plus, cool aliens! What's not to love, right? But, we also get a sweet take on inter-species romance. This is good stuff!

I'm a fan whenever I see a new take on the boy meets girl thing, and the pacing for this story as Kyrena explores the Dome and meets some odd and interesting aliens definitely struck a note with me. I would've liked it to have been a little less abrupt at the end. Then again- I say that about most short stories I read. An easy, fun read overall, especially if you like adventure, science fiction, and a touch of romance!
