Here is an unusual book on fiction writing by my friend and fellow author, Mary Deal: Write it Right - Tips for Authors, Volume I, 2nd Edition.

It's full of writing help. The tips are good ones and cover material that you don't see in fiction writing books. It's especially ideal for new writers, but also for writers who occasionally need some clarification in grammar and composition. It is also useful for those who are thinking of trying their hand at writing fiction: it will give them an excellent feel for what to expect and what not to expect.

This is a great book - it has given me a refresher course on things I already knew and lessons for the things I didn't know, but wanted to. Very easy to understand and easy to find what I'm looking for. I keep it next to my computer along with a highlighter and post-it notes attached to it.

This book is a treasure chest full of gold nuggets. Easy to understand and full of examples. It exceeded my expectations and I'll be referring to various sections of it as I approach the first round of editing on my second novel. And at $3.99 - are you kidding me? It's a steal of a deal. Go for it.
