Like many of you, I remember a childhood of being described as “chubby,” and college years of experimenting with “every diet known to man,” all which had very little effect. Even classes on nutrition yielded minimal results.
Finally, as a married woman, I was able to surround myself with friends who lovingly supported me and gave me the encouragement and information I needed to understand how my body worked. It was then I was able to begin to see positive changes.
Through extensive research and conducting my own interviews with medical professionals and people who had lost weight, I changed my eating habits, eliminated most sugars from my diet, and became active in sports — something I was never able to do as a child.
Now I am passionate about helping people improve their health and enjoy teaching others about healthy eating, exercise, and cooking — as a writer, a lecturer and through cooking classes held in my home.
