Flight - an escape from reality, from pain and despair. Hope Sundast is well familiar with all of these, waking up from a car crash with post-traumatic amnesia. Only his new friend Zephyr can keep him from spiralling into madness, and when old dangers return, he must face them head-on. Factor in an age-old battle against gods for the future of all life, and things couldn't possibly be worse. More
There is a secret war being waged behind the shadows, in the dark of night, and can only be seen in the night sky as stars die and their elements sent flying through empty space. Thirteen stars have been chosen and marked, and tragedy awaits them. Each have different upbringings, different pasts and circumstances, but one thing unites them: their destiny.
Hope Sundast is the survivor of a car crash, waking up only to realise shortly thereafter that his father died and that he's being sent to live with an elf - that looks uncannily similar to him, which is strange considering his relatives are dead, supposedly - who claims to have known his father. A chance encounter saves not only Hope from the spiralling desperation he's drowning in, but an elf named Zephyr Fairchild with an equally crippling past.
However, neither party expected Hope's to be as devastating as it actually is.
Left with post-traumatic amnesia and only able to recall memories of his father, Hope forms a close bond with Zephyr and eventually learns of a destiny he isn't really told much about - only that he must kill the god of Time, and do it before it's too late. Oh, and that he's a demigod. That's also important.
Factor in a troubling past and a threat that returns with a vengeance, Hope slowly becomes the antithesis of his name as he spirals into madness - held only in check by his closest, and only, friend. Then, when the odds are stacked against him, everything goes wrong and only one thing goes right.
Oh yeah, this promises to be an interesting adventure, to say the least.
With all that in mind, he has to follow the council of the one voice in his head that still speaks sanity:
They are all lying.
