Description

Smashwords requires Microsoft Word.doc files for the books it publishes. This is a problem for Linux users. You can make these files with OpenOffice but this is not identical with Microsoft Word and is not officially endorsed by Smashwords. This book shows you how to make OpenOffice work for Smashwords. It also has information for users of LyX who want to make their books available on Smashwords.

I want to thank you for writing an excellent primer for those of us using Linux (in my case, Ubuntu) on how to successfully publish on Smashwords. My own book successfully made it to the Premium Catalog on the first try. Your explanations and visuals were clear, concise, and right on point. What I also liked was that you kept your content relevant and didn't overburden the reader with unnecessary details. Thank you, again. You made it so much easier for me!
