About John Lanasis

John Lanasis was born in Glasgow. The son of a Greek father and an Irish mother, he has lived and travelled extensively in Europe, was educated privately at an Anglo-American School in Athens and studied creative advertising and marketing at college. He speaks Greek and some Italian.

John has set up and successfully run three small businesses, achieved a company sales record in property for a major UK estate agency chain and was solely responsible for breaking two sales records in the travel business in Greece. He has assisted a number small companies to develop new brand identities, creative advertising concepts and to improve their front line image.

John is passionate about creativity and from that perspective is a member of British Actors Equity, and BAFTA – the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. He has appeared as an actor on numerous television productions and trained as a drama director at the BBC. Between entrepreneurial and other pursuits, John continues to engage in professional work in film and TV both on screen as actor and behind the scenes. One of his film story concepts Dead Clean starring andrew Sachs and Shane Ritchie achieved a gold medal for comedy at the Houston World Film Festival.

He has been published as a writer and a photographer and described by one magazine as ‘The Monet of Photographers. He has a character photographic book on the Greek island of Corfu due for publication in the near future.

John mainly divides his time between the UK, Athens and Corfu where he owns a villa.
