Nine years difference between a man and a woman is perfectly acceptable, but not when the woman is an 18 year old rebellious senior at a highly regimented private school and the man is the senior Physics master. When Megan Lorne, precocious senior student at Rhydean, dupes the dour Dr Michael Raines into believing that he has met an intriguing stranger in the local town pub, she sets in motion, an emotional roller coaster for both of them. Discovering her duplicity, Michael Raines sets out to teach her a salutary lesson, only to find it increasingly difficult not to cross the line of propriety.
Eighteen years later, Megan and Michael meet at the same school - this time as social equals. The attraction they felt for each other so many years ago quickly returns, along with the old prejudices and the need to keep secret, their past conflict. Now it is Michael's turn to dupe Megan in the hope of overcoming the baggage of their past.
