t was an okay book.At times it was exciting, funny and hard to put down. It was also well researched. However, I think the author was too safe and inconsistent. At one part the story becomes exciting but it does not maintain its excitement. It was also corny at times. I think Mr. Qureshi could take more risks.

Plus one point since I also love MECHADO!

I have now read a couple of books by this author so far they have been very enjoyable. This one is laugh out loud funny. Poor Parking Officer Jon Rupret (that's R before the E) gets tapped to work a new drug squad since the old unit is being investigated. It is really like reading Charlie Chaplin as a police officer and was a fun way to spend an afternoon inthe sun.

A great novel that combines serious and dangerous situations with a refreshing light-heartedness. Readers will love Officer Rupret's humourous inner dialogue, as well as the intriguing plot. Looking forward to reading more from this author!

Officer Rupret is a parking meter cop who gets his car towed a lot. He wants to be a regular cop very bad. When he is offered into the drug division he is not happy. Last year he interupted a drug sting that took 4 months to set up. Rupret is not well liked over their.
Officer Rupret is likeable but not too smart. He wants to help people but things go wrong a lot for him. He even lies to his mom about what he does.
Their is a new drug comming out with faster more addictive and Officer Rupret is put on the task force and he makes lots of mistakes and some right too.
I laughed while reading this police story. I will read more books by Mobashar. I was given this ebook from Library thing.

I really enjoyed this book, and it was very hard to put down! At first the discription doesnt do it much justice, bit once you read it, its well worth it. This book was MUCH better than i expected it to be! It was great!

The main character, Jon Rupret, is a parking officer (he's one of the guys that puts those tickets on your windsheild, and calls to have your car towed). At first I see him to be arrogant and mean, but after a wile he kind of starts to grow on you, and you start to get the feel of his sense of humor. He's annoying, but likable, and he's good at heart. Jon get put onto a new division, a drug squad, who are trying to find "RACE". "RACE" is a group of people who are making a new drug called "nex", which is going to be the next best drug. A drug that will be used by anyone and everyone, and this drug will let RACE control the entire city. Of course Jon, being the guy he is, figures he will be the one to stop this group and in effect, stop the production of this new drug "nex". It doesn't exactly work out as he plans though. As he says in the book, it looks much easier on tv.

We get to see Jons view of the investigation, and what he does to try to make an impact. We also get a glance into RACE in some chapters, which makes the storytelling much more intresting. This is a book I could not put down. I loved that it wasnt some "hero " book, its just a regular guy, doing his job. He is a guy some of us can relate to- not some superhero cop (even though Jon make think that is what he is!).

I did think there were a LOT of characters, and it did get a little confusing at times to keep track of everyone. Maybe if i were able to get to know a little more about each one I would have been able to follow along a little better. But other than that I loved the plot of this book, its new and original. And i loved the main characters. This is a pretty fast read- or at least it was for me, seeing as i couldnt put it down. I would recomend taking the time to read this.

Jon Rupret (r before e) is a Parking Enforcement Officer whose own car is towed on a regular basis. So when he is selected to be part of an elite task force formed to stop a new and dangerous drug from hitting the streets, no one is more surprised than Jon himself.

R.A.C.E. is a fun and funny book and will keep your attention from beginning to end.

Jonathan Rupret is a Parking Enforcement officier who is unlikely selected to join the Drug Task Force to bring down a group known as R.A.C.E. Jon, an interesting character, seems to have no real direction in his life and is completely out of league with the Drug Task Force. Through a series of missteps Jon does help with the tracking of R.A.C.E. though it is by sheer luck.
