Girl Mystery: Poems on Transgression
What does it feel like to be born in the wrong body, what does it feel like when your very existance breaks most if not every taboo in society? How does it feel when people would rather you didn't even exist? Then how does it feel to finally find peace?
This book of poetry reveals how it can feel to be transsexual, the lives of transgender people are illuminated and humanised. More
From the year 2006 I have written poetry to illucidate and illuminate the lives of trans, transsexual, transgender and non-binary people. Through this work, when performed as spoken word, people have found a way to understand the lives of some of the most marginalised people in society.
For the trans individual this work can bring hope, hope of finding peace, hope of being understood and hope of a place in society. For the family and friends of trans people this work gives an insight into how it might feel for those you know and love, hopefully insight will make it easier for you to understand. You don't need to know a transsexual or transgender person to gain something from this work, there is always a benefit to understanding the lives of others, to insight into other's lives.
The poetry of this work stands alone as a body work regardless of subject matter. Therefore, this book should also appeal to lovers of poetry.
