About Babs Malchow Smith

Author of Day Tripping: Kayak Wisconsin Door County Peninsula: Bluffs, Beaches, Lighthouses, and Shipwrecks.
Babs has an easy propensity to saying yes to just about any adventure one of her brothers dreams up. She is married to her husband, Mike, who indulges and lets her West wind flow, whereas, he steers clear and likes to stay well grounded. Babs is an occupational therapist by trade, so although she is the least skillful paddler, she is handy at the end of the day when any tendonitis muscle ache flares up.

We have been going up to "the Door" for over 30 years as both landlubber tourists and as sailors. We complain about the over commercialization of the door as well as the crowds.

I've never seen or been to most of the places in this book! It looks like we need to take a closer look, ...maybe this time from a kayak.

This book is a breath of fresh air and has me chomping at the bit for summer!

Well done Babs!

I am an avid sea kayaker from Wisconsin. My home waters are Green Bay and Michigan and yet this book includes put ins and sights I had no idea were there. Also loved the "what else to do in the area" adds from sights to restaurants.
