About Teri J. Dluznieski M.Ed.

Teri spends most of her time, hanging out on a small farm in Vermont with 3 horses, a dog and a cat. Her latest addition and infatuation is with 5 dairy goats who have been determined to eat the entire garden as often as possible!

Teri has an undergraduate degree in Lit, anthropology minor; and a masters degree in Education, curriculum and instruction. From this educational background, she has an intrinsic understanding of the writing process, what constitutes good solid writing and how to express information effectively. Coupled with her masters in Education-curriculum, Teri is adept at creating meaningful and powerful learning experiences. Having studied cultural anthropology laid the groundwork for her studies with indigenous teachers.

When looking for information on Lyme disease and herbalism, a book on shamanic healing jumped off the shelf at the bookstore. She was instantly hooked and before completing the book, knew she had to learn how to do this work herself. The book was on Peruvian shamanism and spiritual practices. And these are the teachings that are the central core and framework for all of her work.

Teri studied with many of the top names of the Peruvian spiritual medicine teachers, became an accomplished and gifted healer in her own right, and taught workshops and classes, developing her own approach to the teachings. She has also created Horse medicine teachings, as this is the energetic philosophy she has evolved. Most medicine “totems” are predatory and singular. Horses live socially, in groups and have more to teach people about creating better social communities.

From this work, Teri has also studied herbalism, and Bowen Bodywork- in order to better address clients needs at all levels, energetic, spiritual, physical and physiological.

Teri has a deep and strong connection to horses, having ridden and owned horses for over 30 years. She works mainly with thoroughbred horses, rescue and rehab, on her small farm in Vermont. Teri now teaches summer camps and holistic equitation. Her goal is to develop a program that teaches kids how to approach the world with relaxed confidence and respect, to recognize their strengths and acknowledge their weaknesses, and have compassion for all things. This is done through developing intuition and awareness that can be learned from working with horses.

When not working or writing, Teri is an avid science fiction junkie, and enjoys most outdoor activities, from hiking to skiing, to good company around a bonfire.

Her current writing projects include:

Soldier to Warrior; Growing Wise, and Kinesthetic meditation ( DVD)
