Deep within the Basara gem mine, a magical doorway is discovered by the elven miners. Some of the elves believe there is a vast treasure hidden behind the door, while others are unsure what dangers are lurking on the other side. About Ben L. Hughes

*** All of my books are now available through Amazon.com if you would like to purchase a printed copy. ***

I live along the front range of the Colorado Rockies with my wife and son. When I am not enjoying the outdoors or spending time with my family, I write fictional novels and short stories. My family is my life, and writing is my passion.

If you enjoyed reading any of my books, please take moment to write a review as it helps other readers find my works.

My latest release:
Dragon Fire: After writing a number of books about dragons for young readers, I felt like exploring something more adult oriented. I know this might not appeal to everyone considering it involves an inter-species relationship, but I wanted to test the limits of love in a short story. (For readers 18+)

Upcoming Books:
The Cave of Secrets: Book 5 of the Dragon Adventure Series. This is a short story for young readers who enjoyed my other books about dragons. This book will conclude the saga of the Fire Dragons and the Dragon Wizard. Release expected by the end of summer or early fall 2015.

Under the Full Moon:
A fictional novel about werewolves. Release expected mid 2016.

Book Updates:
Dominant Species has been completely revised to smooth out the writing and remove a few typos.

I have changed some of the covers on my books to meet Amazon's requirements for publication. I was a little sad that I had to replace the first three book covers in the Dragon Adventure Series, but I do think the new covers look more professional and I hope everyone likes them.

I always welcome comments and questions from all my readers and my email is provided below. I know that some typographical errors might slip by myself, or the editors. If you find an error, please feel free to send me an email and I will make an effort to remove the error in the next revision of the book.

P.S. The bio picture is of my son and I heading up the 4x4 road to the top of Mount Antero, Colorado.
