About J. Kraft Mitchell

J. Kraft Mitchell writes speculative fiction. He can't help it. He doesn't plan on stopping any time soon. His first book, The Nexus, reached number one on Amazon's juvenile science fiction best seller list. The series, which includes The Dark Beneath and Earth's Shadow, continues to gain fans around the world.

He and his wife trained for ministry at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and now work with students and young adults at their church in Colorado. You can often find them surrounded by droves of hyperactive teenagers. They do it on purpose. Call them crazy.

He is the proud father of two beautiful daughters. Yes, being in a house full of girls creates an overabundance of drama in his life, but then again drama is something an author should be familiar with.

Such a well crafted story! The Nexus was pure pleasure to read. The evolution of the main character was handled quite well. The only drawback was the spelling errors, there weren't a lot of them; but there were some misplaced words and some missing words. It would be my honor to help Mr. Mitchell polish this gem to its true perfection. The book was so much fun to read I gave it 5 stars despite the minor shortcomings.

I enjoyed the book, except it seemed strange to me that a decent human being would switch from being a courier for criminals, to being a willing participant in a fascist police state and then consider her switch a good (i.e., ethical and moral) one.

A very fine book, well worth the time to read. Seemed kind of "Starship Troopers" to me at times.

I previously got this work on Amazon (with DRM) and now it is here DRM free. Grabbing the DRM free version now. The following is the review I wrote on Amazon April 26, 2012

Think twice before starting this book on work night, I was up very late reading "one more part". The main character is a natural female "James Bond". She has a natural talent for doing the skills that make being a spy, special forces agent or criminal someone special. The writing is very smooth, and I felt that every action was reasonable and believable in the characters universe.

No review??? What are you waiting for, people??!!!!
Okay, it got on smashwords 2 days ago... STILL!!!
I am not going to spoil anything for you fellow readers, the book is FREE, a fast read, and you will love every sentence. Not trying to compare the authors, they're both amazing, but if you've read the Emperor's Edge by Linday Buroker...no seriously, it's THAT good, with more sci-fi and mystery to it. Yes, THAT GOOD!!!
J. Kraft Mitchell, I bet you're a member of a secret organization of authors that publish the first book of their series for free, knowing the reader will pay huge amounts of money to get their hands on the continuation...I am all about being part of something bigger than myself. Thank you for the adventure!
