Colonel Thomas ordered Lieutenant Scott Harkins (30) to find cover for the men. They found a place close by. Sarah Collins (22) husband & their son had gone off to fight in the Revolutionary war. She gave them permission to roast 1 of her pigs. The 2 began to tell past stories of their lives to each other.
Colonel Thomas informed Lieutenant Harkins it was time to movie out. They returned to the town at Christmas time. Things had changed for both of them & Lieutenant Scott Harkins asked Sarah Collins to marry him, she accepted. It was now Sarah Collins-Harkins. She was P/G & now her new husband was missing. Sarah & Scottie (son) moved in with the in-laws & she started college. Sarah & Sergeant Nick Broomell stayed in touch with each other after the war. He later proposed to her. The 3 of them later moved back to N.J. Strawberry Mansion she helped found & worked at was now a fully staffed regional medical facility. The Collins/Harkins farm stayed in the family for 140 yrs. In 1910, Jonathan Harkins, sold about 20 acres of the family farm by a creek. The Spanish Influenza pandemic wiped out 40 million PPL all over the world. In 1916, there was a shore line attack of sharks. The children were always told the story about The Captain of the Creek.
There are lots/lots more of flashbacks of the families’ past/future from (1776-1991).

Cool book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written book of historical (true/false) trek of several generations’ family life. It was very easy to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. No grammar errors, repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios & a great set of unique characters. This could make a great past/future movie or mini TV series. No doubt in my mind a very easy rating of 5 stars for this short story (book).
Thank you for the free book
