On 13 November 2010, newly-wed Anni Hindocha Dewani was shot dead while on honeymoon in Cape Town, South Africa, after the vehicle she was travelling in was hijacked. Within weeks her husband Shrien - a successful businessman from the UK - was accused of being involved, an allegation he has vehemently denied.
Since Anni's death, three people have been convicted in South Africa of her murder and a prolonged legal process has taken place within the UK in an attempt to extradite her husband so that he may stand trial. Eventually, in early 2014, the High Court of Justice in London approved Shrien's return. He maintains his innocence.
