About Patricia Keen-Diaz

Spurned by her mother, following an apocalyptic course of events that left the family shattered, Patricia dropped out of school in her senior year, married when she was seventeen, and moved to downtown Los Angeles with her first husband. A year later, the two moved to Casa Grande, Arizona. Patricia became aware of her husband’s worsening heroin addiction while living in Los Angeles, and soon after her first son’s birth she fled the marriage, and the state, following a harrowing night of terror at gunpoint.

Realizing she was responsible, not only for herself, but for her son’s life as well, at 19 years old, Patricia put all of her demons in a box, buried the box, and enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she first trained as a jet engine mechanic and later cross-trained into database administration. She met her second husband who became the father of her second son, at Luke AFB, Arizona. They were soon transferred to Hahn AB, West Germany, followed by assignments to Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota; Langley AFB, Virginia; and eventually Nellis AFB, Nevada. During this time, Patricia raised her two sons, worked towards a military career, pursued a degree in information technology, and opened and later sold, a daycare center. No amount of work was able to calm the demons clawing to get out of the box and Patricia’s second marriage unraveled after eight years.

Patricia met her third husband while stationed at Langley AFB, but it would be several years before they would marry. She gave up her military career and her slot in Officer’s Training School to be with him. She continued to build a career in information technology and retired from corporate life in 2005 and began working with her husband and step-son in a small decorative glass business, until serious medical issues forced them to sell the business.

Feeling the need to confront her demons, Patricia began to write, a dream that had eluded her since childhood. Traces of Patricia’s slain demons can be found strewn amongst her writings, along with her indelible passion and imaginings.

In addition to novels, Patricia has also written five screenplays and twenty-two songs which can be viewed on the Bucko and Chicky Publishing website.
