About Richard Donahue



After recording and performing in New York City with RCA Records, Richard Donahue (President, Next Level Entertainment) moved to Los Angeles to pursue his career as a songwriter and publisher. Joining the staff at Hollywood Sound Studios as "President of Publishing", Richard became responsible for introducing and placing compositions from the company's vast catalog into a variety of film and television projects. Included in that list of projects was the song “We Are The Ones” For the hit TV show “Fame” The MTV video starring Whitney Houston and Herb Alpert titled " Stop The Madness ".

In 1987 Mr. Donahue was presented an opportunity he could not pass up so he left Hollywood Sound Studios to form his own company. That following year Richard wrote the smash single, " It's The Lover Not the Love " for MCA Record's Pop Recording Artist Tiffany . The album sold platinum and was performed by Tiffany on "The Tonight Show" and the "David Letterman Show". That song is still being sold today on "tiffany's Greatest Hits" released in the late 90's.

Richard co-produced a recording project with songwriter/guitarist Steve Cropper who co-penned " Midnight Hour " and " Dock of the Bay ." (Note: Steve Cropper is the original member of the "Blues Brothers", "Booker T & The MG's" and is a member of the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.")

In 1993 Richard Donahue transferred his company to Nashville TN, this time agreeing to sign a publishing contract with "Double J Music." Mr. Donahue co-manage and produced a popular music group called " The Knight Brothers ". Richard also assisted in bringing artists on board Universal Records in Los Angeles with the associate producer for the "Patsy Cline" Duets album, thus combining the original Patsy Cline vocals with current country singing stars, like Willie Nelson and Bob Carlyle famous for the song "Butterfly Kisses".

Mr. Donahue co- produced three productions with Bob Welch of famed " Fleetwood Mac .” Mr. Welch recorded six albums with Fleetwood Mac, and proceeded to have a successful solo career of his own. Many #1 Records and Top 5 Hits).

Currently Richard is co-producing the artist, Marshall Sanford, and Christen artist, Billy Croft with co-producer / songwriter Danny Wells.
