About Cindy Bowdoin

Cindy Bowdoin has written numerous nonfiction books about animals for children. She grew up in Petaluma, CA on ten acres with her parents, six brothers, one sister, and many animals. When she was a child, she loved spiders and insects.

Cindy is a retired elementary school teacher who taught kindergarten through second grade for sixteen years at White Rock Elementary School in Rancho Cordova, CA. She received her BA in Natural Science from San Jose State University in 1982.

Cindy retired from teaching in order to spend more time with her grandchildren. Her love of children and nature inspired her to write nonfiction books about animals. She is committed to promoting literacy and lifelong learning in children.
