First let me admit that I didn't read this series in order but still had no problems but I have actually read Black Wolf: Loco Lobo before this one and it told Joaquin's story after the events in this one.

Being the youngest of the brothers he's had it all in one way or another, some things you get the feeling that like most youngest siblings he'd rather do without. Being the drummer in a hot band however Joaquin has also had his pick of any female that he liked. Picking and choosing at a whim until he meets Jade. I found the emotional difference between him in this novel and Loco Lobo outstanding. Ms. Belle took a young, brash man used to getting what he wanted when he wanted it in this one to the more mature character readers will find in the next one. Joaquin and Jade are beautifully written and the reader will pull for them as Jade wonders if she can have a future with a man that she knows if more used to the fast life and then life interfers and we watch things shatter. I will not spoil that for readers but even though I knew what should have happened I still choked up. Very emotional as readers are witness to the events that force Joaquin to grow up fully.

Ms. Belle has written another powerful, touching and excellent book for this family.
