Astel:Chosen
By j.r.Murdock
This is a delightful young adult story about the coming of age of a princess, a prince and two friends. J.R. Murdock has told an adventure of the four children who became adults, quickly, when their circumstances demanded it. The story includes wizards, dragons and even a jeweled spider. He has even included romance. It is a plot that I have not seen before so it is refreshing to read. It is a girl who has been chosen to make a difficult decision, who will be trained and taught the magic of both worlds so she can make this decision. A princess. It is nice to read that she will be the one who brings balance back to the world. In this story there are challenges to overcome, pain to endure and even grief. J.R. gave Astel the maturity to make the adult decisions she needed to make at the end of the story. This will be a book that I will give to my grandsons to enjoy.
There are a few errors that pop up but none that make me want to stop reading.
