I was reading this book in bed and started laughing so hard that I woke up my husband. After a few minutes when I still hadn't managed to get the giggles under control, he began getting really annoyed and, I believe, suspicious. How could a mere book cause such a reaction? I swear, it really was the book! It's good enough to cause marital problems!

This book of short stories and the novella, Suckers, is inappropriately funny. I mean this in the worse way. The only comparison I can find is laughing at porn at a funeral where one of the main participants in the porn is the person you are there to mourn.

That being said, I really enjoyed it. I will never look at anything to do with a dead body in quite the same way, but I wasn't quite right to being with.

God I love this author! His characters are unflinchingly human and his storylines both pacey and well-fleshed. Add to that a large dollop of both witty and pithy humour and you have yourself a good read.

Another brilliant one. I love the combination of horror and comedy. Konrath is quickly becoming a favorite author.
