The Mainstream Media News Blackout
To make clear, this is not a book of the author's opinion on political parties, politics or national policies. It’s a documented research and compilation of investigative journalism extensively from the mainstream media that were dismissed, ignored or otherwise not picked up and reported by a vast majority of others within the same mainstream media. Hence, the title of this book. Con't.... More
As an example, a fascinating heavyweight grudge match developed and continued extremely quietly throughout the summer of 2013 between major labor unions and the White House. Unions, who played a major role in supporting and passing Obamacare, produced no shortage of perturbing quotes, demands, fears and warnings. From the call for the outright repeal of Obamacare by the United Union of Roofers, to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers who ran ads against it, mainstream media news coverage was scant at best. On rare occasions, and if you scoured the internet, you might find a headline like this May 24, 2013 from the Huffington Post: “Some Unions Angry with Obamacare’s Unintended Consequences.”
“Angry” was the understatement of the year. The General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, James P. Hoffa, wrote a scathing letter to officials stating their support of Obamacare has come back to haunt them, and in the Unions unmistakable unique way of communicating, the letter read; “FIX IT!!”
As more major unions “grew angry,” it climaxed into another ominous statement by Terrence O’Sullivan, President of the Laborers’ International Union of North America who remarked, “If the Affordable Care Act is not fixed......then I believe it needs to be repealed.”
Was the media’s blackout of both the union fears, and what needs to be fixed, an anomaly, poor judgement, deemed to be of no interest, or purposeful by hundreds of news outlets? Whichever the case may be, it was definitely unanimous. The reader will undoubtedly come to their own conclusion after navigating through a long series of gold standard investigative reports that identify many of the issues raised by America’s unions - all meeting the same fate as the union angst - no where to be found. An anomaly will be the first option stricken from your list of possible explanations.
Although "Obamacare" is listed in numerous chapter titles, fulfilling the reader’s expectation to the title of this book is the focal point. Using Obamacare (and much more) as the catalyst to do it, is the right choice at the right time. And, as political as the topic is these days, to every extent possible, the politics are withdrawn. Referencing liberals, conservatives, Democrats or Republicans are nil to none.
Every adult in America has heard accusations the mainstream media is not living up to their obligation, on some level, to the American people. Let me take you through dozens on top of dozens of documented national news blackouts set in a storybook-like fashion. Endowing credibility, it’s evidenced by using the mainstream media’s own work, and words, against them.
"John McLaughlin's excellent exposure of the sycophant mainstream media, Media News Black Out, A Betrayal of Democracy, is a must read by all Americans. Every citizen would benefit from Mr. McLaughlin's in-depth disclosure how major "news agencies" manipulated, purposely omitted, fabricated and spun past events to benefit one particular political party. Most of his book deals with the legislation shenanigans and passage of Obamacare, but in the overall political scheme of things, Mr. McLaughlin identifies the purposeful dumbing down of journalists and exposes their unwillingness to truly report and investigate for the benefit of all."

“Journalism can never be silent: that is its greatest
virtue and its greatest fault. It must speak, and speak
immediately, while the echoes of wonder, the claims of
triumph and the signs of horror are still in the air.”
