This was a wonderful story. Unlike most weird west pieces, this one didn't include a gunslinger, preacher, or anyone else of that type. Instead, it's more of a slice of life piece where the slice of life is something rather weird and horrific. It's a refreshing tale compared to the pistol fights and bar room brawls.

The characters are well done, each of their actions believable and reactions realistic. During the story, I found myself angry or upset at some of the characters for their choices and actions. Some of that was due to the irrationality of some of those decisions, something that most writers have difficulty capturing. But May does it well, and it makes a highly enjoyable story.

Lastly, this story is well priced on Smashwords, something I find a lot of authors don't do. Priced at $1.49 USD, it's not lumped in with the 99cent stories yet not over priced for something so short. I was happy with the pricing and would have gladly paid $2 for it.
