Beautifully written and generously shared! This is an excellent testimonial to the phenomenal spiritual growth believers can experience after seeking and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, an experience separate from the new birth. The Word of God comes alive to you and your spiritual eyes are opened! I personally do not believe anyone can truly begin to understand Paul’s epistles (which are written to Spirit-filled believers) without the infilling of the Holy Spirit. I appreciate the transparency with which the author shared her journey and especially enjoyed the excerpt she included on how to determine what ministry you may be called to pursue.
Moreover, I like that she included how it is so important to stay away from those teaching legalism. If your church seeks to place you back under the law, it will definitely hinder your walk in the Spirit… Scriptures brought to mind: For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. ~ John 1:17 (Matthew 5:17, 22:37-40); A new commandment I give to you that you love one another even as I have loved you… ~ John 13:34; Not my might nor by power but by My Spirit… ~ Zechariah 4:6(b). My pastor’s wife literally got me the tee shirt ~ “By My Spirit!” I agree with the quote from Catherine Marshall’s book, The Helper ~ “how then without the [infilling of the] Spirit can we live anything but a half-life?” I believe this book will benefit and encourage many. It was a good read!
