Voices

"Doc," a famous New York psychiatrist, develops paranoid schizophrenia. He hears voices: Elvis, Nietzsche, Freud, etc. Escaping from his own clinic, he teams up with JJ, a spunky 25-year-old "retro-hippie" hitchhiking to San Francisco to find her father, and Stella, a sensitive but world-wise former Las Vegas stripper who's on her way to Montana to claim a sheep ranch she won in a poker game.

About Bill Crumpler

I live in Texas with my lovely wife and our imaginary bulldog. I grew up reading Jules Verne, Mark Twain, Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, H.G. Wells, and—later on—Franz Kafka.

Many of my tales deal with love and “romance”—the relationship (both physical and spiritual) between a man and a woman. The protagonist is often a lonely, complex, intelligent, beautiful (or not-so-beautiful) woman who finds love and happiness in unexpected—sometimes magical—ways.
