About Rachel Higginson

I was born and raised in Nebraska, but spent my college years traveling the world. I fell in love with Eastern Europe, Paris, Indian Food and the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka. But I came back home to marry my high school sweetheart and now I spend my days raising our growing family. In those few spare moments I have, I am either reading or writing Young Adult Fiction, because I am obsessed with it.

Five other things I'm obsessed with right now:
1. My Kuerig Coffee Machine. Genius.
2. 90's music. Oh man, the 90's speak right to my soul.
3. Chocolate smelling body wash. Who doesn't want to walk around smelling like a bakery?
4. Colored Chapstick. And if it's Dr. Pepper Flavored, that's kind of my nirvana.
5. Spotify. It's like the mixed-tape of this generation and I have probably three hundred hours of music on there. Can't get enough.

The best book I've read since purchasing my e-reader!!! I couldn't take my eyes off it.
The relationship between Kiran and Eden is exciting and Avalon's sarcasm is laugh-out-loud funny!
A few surprising events occurred in the book but i hope the second book will bring some hidden truths out... I see that Jericho is a possible lover of Eden's so i'd like to see how that plot is carried out in the story.
I can't wait to read the second book but i'm slightly eerie as to who Eden's next lover will be:s

Reckless Magic was plain amazing!! I read it for two days straight and would have finished it sooner than that if it wasn't for school. I literally can't take my eyes off of this book and I'm so looking forward to reading Hopeless.

This is a must-read and I can't wait for the second book since there are so many unanswered questions. I mean, what became of Eden and Avalon's parents? Are they still alive? Would the Resistance finally win over Lucan? Would they be able to bring forth the freedom they so long to have? What are Eden and Avalon's true capability? How powerful are they and what are they destined to do? Would Eden finally give in to the Resistance? What's up with Kiran and Seraphina? Do they really truly have feelings for each other? What is Lucan going to do if he finds out the truth about Eden? And most important question of all, what will happen to Eden and Kiran's love? Since they're "starcrossed" and all, would they finally have their happy ending despite everyone being against it?

Loved it, and the whole series! Great romance and a empowering story against racism and corruption.

Great concept, but too little development of Eden through the book. The main character spends too much time caught up in her relationship, too much time stomping her foot around like a child, and not enough time making an effort to learn about her new surroundings. The only thing that differentiated this from Twilight was that the girl could at least take care of herself a little bit, sometimes.

I was caught up in the character of Eden! She is portrayed as a very interesting and complicated young lady with much to learn, and it is fun to take the journey with her. I didn't want to stop reading - each chapter ended making me want more. I can't wait for the sequel!
