Maureen Mullis studied journalism at Brigham Young University. After a couple of years working as a reporter and columnist for a small weekly newspaper she worked for awhile as a freelance writer.
During her years as a stay-at-home mom she continued her writing, this time venturing into fiction. After a brief stint as a library tech in elementary and high schools, she and her family moved from California to Colorado where most of her stories take place.
She lives with her husband, two sons, two dogs and a motley collection of birds and fish in Colorado Springs, CO where she is currently at work on her next novel.

"Finding Normal" by Maureen Mullis is a great story of a famous actress, Cassidy Maguire, who is disenchanted with the Hollywood lifestyle and wants to take a break to see if she can find herself, and a sense of normalcy by moving to a small town in the mountains of Colorado. She quickly finds a home, friends, and even love as she leaves her career behind for a time. Seth Walters is the small town veterinarian she meets and falls in love with. Their experiences with family, friends, and Cassidy's career are diverting to read. Maureen does a great job of bringing the characters and location to life. I would love to see a spin-off following Amy (Seth's sister) and her search for love....and even a sequel to the story between Cassidy and Seth. This was an enjoyable, engrossing novel, and I couldn't put it down...my kids got play in the park for over two hours so I could finish the book! I highly recommend this novel, and this author!
