"Ms. Carter should give lessons to other writers; showing them that it is possible to write a novella without skimping on characterization. I not only love the way she gives us such strong, bold heroines but always creates a story that grabs your attention by the throat with the first sentence. This novella is told from first person perspective; and in many ways Gwen could be any woman doing menial tasks and bored out of her skull, but she’s anything but ordinary. Who doesn’t love a kick ass woman who can handle herself in difficult situations? I certainly do! Jasen sounds like my idea of a perfect guy. Yep I too am a sucker for pretty eyes on a man, and Jasen’s the total package. This story was short but completely satisfying. The author has a great turn of phrase and a dab hand at humor. Ms Carter is now firmly installed on my ‘must buy list’. If her name’s on a book you are guaranteed a good read."

"The description and character development was excellent for such a short novella. Thrill of the Night is written in the first person, which works perfectly to tell Gwen’s story. Her voice reads like someone you might know. Gwen is an intriguing character who is easy to relate to. She is wry, sarcastic, self-deprecating, and self-conscious about her body. The interactions between Jasen and Gwen are charged with chemistry and heat.

Although Thrill of the Night flows from beginning to end, making the most of its brief length, just as we start learning more about Jasen and Gwen, the story is over all too soon. With a balanced mix of humor, suspense, action, and romance, it is a sexy, fun, and tightly written novella that most definitely leaves you wishing for more."
