Hi, my name is Florin Nicoara. I am a philosopher and writer who is not afraid to embrace it all. Unfortunately, most scholars and experts today tend to focus on one subject while ignoring the rest. A home is not just the roof, or windows, or the furniture, but everything that makes a house your home. Life is no different. Some people look to science, others to religion, esoteric philosophies, but they look at them each separately, as if "only one leg" could support the whole. After a lifetime of observation and study I have become convinced that this "single minded" view of the world is incomplete, and the reason so many of us find a hollow in our heart.
So I've dedicated my life to studying everything, from history and science to philosophy and religion, and I have finally come to a place in life where I feel peacefully aware of my existence and role in this world. Yet when I try to explain what this means, there is no single sentence of phrase I can use. In fact, when I started writing down a thesis of what I discovered about our life and existence, I ended up with An Old Black Marble. The 1st lesson I learned about our reality; there is no easy, snap my fingers, know it now, answer. The answer takes time, because learning takes time. The 2nd lesson; the journey is what truly matters because that's what life is, a journey not a destination. So if you would like to enrich your journey and understand more of what I'm talking about, there is no other way around it, you will have to read An Old Black Marble. And remember, this is only the beginning. There is much more to come.

I discovered the greatest book of all time. I’m giddy just writing about it. I don’t even know how to describe it. It is the most original and unique piece of literature I have ever read bar none. Even the way it is assembled is pure genius. At first I thought the three parts were redundant since it was already broken up into chapters, but only after I read the last sentence did it all come together making perfect sense of everything; format, plot, the little stories that form each chapter, etc.
Essentially the first two parts weave one of the most interesting and engrossing, emotionally-tumbling, twistingly-shocking narratives I have ever read. Part one and two on their own deserve the Nobel literary prize, but then there is part three. Part three is stunning. Not even Plato’s Republic in all its originality, in its own time, can equal the new insights that part three of An Old Black Marble offers in modern times. This is a book that every man and woman on this Earth should read because no other book reaches into the essence of humanity the way this book does.
This book has literally changed the way I perceive the world around me and of course myself in it. And the real amazing thing about that is that I never picked up on that when I was reading it. It never felt philosophical. The story was straightforward but so engrossing that I could not stop reading, but when I finished it, and had time to think about it, it began affecting me in ways I can not even explain. I’ve always been kind of a depressed person, but after reading this book I just don’t see how I could ever get as depressed as I used to be. It WILL LITERALY CHANGE your perspective on life. I love this book and recommend it to all.
