In a last ditch effort after a cure for her brother's Asperger's--no matter the cost in money or convictions--Marian's parents drag them all out to Albuquerque to join a fringe religious community. Against her will Marian finds herself drawn into Pastor Andervender's church and its secrets as she tries to protect her brother against Andervender's driven, and at times frightening, ministrations.

In the next few months she will discover more than she ever wanted to know about herself, mystical dreams, and the dark side of human nature ... and she will find love where she expected to find only hate.

For she is about to meet John Andervender, whose family is falling apart even faster than her own, and over whom a dangerous shadow looms that draws ever closer.
