Extended description

All libraries are haunted -- the spirits of men and women long dead live on there, in the words they wrote, in the work that they poured their lives into creating. They survive through the books they put on paper. But what of the books they didn't live long enough to write? The books unfinished? The books that might have been? Bob has inherited his grandfather's house, and with it his grandfather's life work -- his library, a library that is haunted in a way Bob would never have imagined...

A free short story, one of three contained in THE OTHER IRON RIVER, AND OTHER STORIES.

A novel concept and very well written, an excellent short story. This was the second story that I have read by this author and I intend to read as many more as I can find.

I am never going to look at libraries and books the same way again. This is a superb little story that follows Bob as he inherits his Grandfather’s house and thus his library and task to write those books that authors have left unfinished due to the unfortunate appearance of Death. This is a heart-felt and warming story that all book lovers can enjoy, whether simply readers or writers too. I like to think that there are those in the world collecting those works that the authors of the world hadn’t the time to write, it’s just a shame to think that they will just be left to gather dust on a shelf or in a filing cabinet rather than being read. Hopefully this story will continue with Bob finding a way to tell those stories to the world.

Tony I'll write a review later for Ghost Writer (I'm pressed for time now)it is a GREAT story. I want to invite you to a writers round table of smashwords writers. It's a closed group, but if you think you might be intersted message me on my facebook page. We are going to do critical reviews for each other and try to help each other get better. It's not about money, we just want to get better as writers (well alright if we do get better I guess it would be about money if we get better hahaha). We just want to get better and help each other.

To a writer, the subject is stunning. We all have something unfinished, and time can run out any second.

I loved the story, but it seemed too quick, too sudden. It seemed more like the synopsis of a novel than a short story. I would have liked if the story would have lingered on, slowly, enticingly, louring the reader in, seducing him. I got the image of old south, ancient mansions and abandoned slave quarters, of lazy life with books and scripts. It seemed almost sacrilige that such a story was mutilated into a few short pages.

I wanted more, more, the life of the Bob, his granpa, the lives of all the writes whose lives were cut short.

There is so much potential in this story. Please, share with us the rest of it.
