About Joe C Combs 2nd

Each week on Sunday, I post a new article on my blog. As is smashwords, I am constantly trying to improve the site so it is easier for you to use. If you have a comment, please write me, and thank You!

My first book "Titanic, A Search For Answers" was originally written as a fundraiser for a maritime museum where I was the advisory board president and a member of the board of trustees.
Historical research is my hobby and influences much of my writing.

So far for 2015, I have three new books scheduled for release, which will bring my total to fourteen. The first is "The Cartaphilus Saga: book #1 Amissio," scheduled for release on March 27, 2015.

A submarine sailor for almost nine years, I am also an award winning artist. As a scuba diver I have dived sites from New England to the Caribbean. I am into music, art, wood carving, and pretty much anything that sounds like it could be fun or interesting.

Once again, thank you very much.

Take care and God bless you.

Drop me a line ... I am glad to answer any questions you might have.

A short concise and well written expose of some of the Titanic's myths. Tales like this tend to take on a life of their own until the real truth gets lost. Joe Combs has done a good job of bringing us back to reality. As a mariner myself, I strongly feel that getting to the true reasons for these tragedies is the only way to prevent these events from reoccurring.

When dealing with a disaster as celebrated as the Titanic it's important to be able to cut through all the fables and myths and half-digested truisms that have filled our collective "memories" of this event. Joe Combs does just that in this concise volume.

"Titanic, a Search for Answers" begins by laying out the known facts from her size and build to her "family tree." Then each aspect of her short working life is examined. What is known to be true is laid out simply and with clarity. What has been speculated is identified and given its due.

At first glance this may seem a dispassionate way of looking into such a human tragedy, but for my taste, having the hype peeled away lays the foundation for an experience of what has been perennially seen as a profound tragedy that marked the end of an era.

This volume belongs on the e-shelf of anyone interested in Titanic, her life, and the death of her people on that cold April night.
