Third John in a commentary on local assemblies of Christians - whether organized as churches or just meeting groups. No one, however, will do well to accept a claim made of Scripture without first perusing and understanding the Scripture in question first. THE BODY examines this epistle, and identifies it as not just a personal charge, but a letter specific to a church to describe specifically what is going on within that church. Since it is understood that all Scripture is useful for teaching, we can understand that Third John tells us what we can expect to see in a church or assemblage of Christians anywhere. It less personally and more corporately charges, "Here is what goes on in church that is right and here is what goes on that is wrong. Now, for your sake and others, choose what is right or someone will be talking to you about it." Thus, THE BODY gives you a description of both what you can and should expect from your church.
