A sensuous, vicarious read. I could feel the lover-stranger's coarse curls, smell his nicotine breath amid our sweat and hear his sing-songy French and the bedsprings outpacing my sighs. Damn, I need a cigarette, and I don't even smoke.

Sweet remembrance, running along nicely until we encounter the taste of cigarette ashes on his tongue. Did he smoke the cigarette backward? Or did the author mean to say the taste of nicotine? Eww!
