Violet Midnight is a story of love with lots of secrets. Jane is an enchanter who has been living on her own since she was seventeen. She loves living alone surrounded by Jasmyn Lake. Elias is an artist who is coping with the loss of his twin brother and his crazy family problems. Jane has been dreaming about Elias for some time while he sees purple glitter that he comes to realize is Jane.
This is hard for me to review because this book was a bit confusing for me. In the beginning I was lost on what was going on most of the time. It flipped from the past to the present so much with no timeline/date. I also felt that everything was rushed. Jane and Elias are meant to be together but everything between them felt like it happened so fast. There are a lot of unawsered questions. We just get a glimse of the main characters backgrounds. The other characters kinda pop in and out of the story. We know that they're enchanters but that's it. No more information on them. We don't really know what an enchanter is, only that they control the elements. I would have liked to knew more about what an enchanter is. There are a lot of twists and turns, romance and some humor. The ending was a bit odd for me, it left me feeling like what just happened?
I liked it for the most part, just didn't love it. I will probably read the next one just to see what happens. Sorry if this left you confused but that is how I felt reading this book. This e-book was given to me for review from the author. This did not affect my review in any way.

Oh. My. Gosh. I LOVED Violet Midnight! Allie Burke creates a fantastic world that I’d love to live in. I appreciated how strong Jane was, even in her weaknesses. Elias is just . . . delicious.
The aura color themes of the different types of Enchanters were great. I liked how each type of Enchanter had their own element, as well as aura. I also really liked how Jasmyn Lake seemed almost like a person complete with emotions.
Even if you don’t like fantasy, you would probably like The Enchanters series. I highly recommend it.

What a lovely cover and an even more lovely story. I really enjoyed it. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but I will say I read the whole thing in under 14 hours.
I think I stopped for two meals and three bathroom breaks but finished it. The characters keep the story moving in this fantastic world, and the hot scenes kept me FROM moving. A+, five stars, a ten! Whatever your rating is = fun!

I actually bought this book on Amazon first but I liked it so much I am updating smashwords too. This story had everything I was looking for. It had a detailed world, sexy characters, and even better scenes where tension and action filled each word. The odd thing is I got it to read with my girlfriend, but when she fell asleep I read ahead and would hold it over her all day until she caught up hahaha.
Anyway, I'd buy the next one.

One of my mates suggested I give this read a go and I am glad she did. I enjoyed the romance in it and when there was a lull in the steamy parts, there was a bit of action too. Really good read by Mrs. Burke.
I stayed up a bit late reading it though so if I could give 4.5 stars I might have just because I'm so tired. But seriously, worth the loss of sleep!

Well. Here I am writing a review. I will be honest, my mom is sitting next to me making me write it as this book is not something I usually read. She absolutely loved it though. Here entire book club read it and now have decided to post reviews of it.
According to my mom,"Allie Burke is supremely talented. Her book transported me to a place that kept me spinning. I am still thinking about it and hope we select her next book at my club. I think we will."
So there you have it. My mom gives it 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. I am usually more of a YA fan but for me, this book was worth going out of my normal comfort zone.
The world building was FANTASTIC. The characters kept me engaged. PLUS there was action that kept me turning the pages.
Buying my copy of Emerald Destiny now.

‘Violet Midnight’ was great. This book had everything I love in a book; battle scenes, romance, magic. The characters were believable, they weren’t perfect, which I like, and Allie’s description of their enviroment painted a great picture to put you there in the moment. So, would I reccomend this book? Definitely. Am I going to read ‘Emerald Destiny’, the second in the series? *snickers* I was up until one this morning finishing it.
I suppose there’s really only one thing left for me to say… So, Allie, when’s the third one coming out?

on May 29, 2011 :
This novel had a very interesting concept, and the idea of the enchanters manipulating the elements made me really want to read it, but as I read I found that, for me, there seemed to be a lot of disconnect and more questions arose than answers. I think the novel was a little too fast paced for me. It jumps from scene to scene and was confusing. Elias and Jane fall in love much too quickly for my taste, overnight it seems; I like a little more background information and development in my stories, and I’m sorry to say that I personally didn’t find it in this novel.
I felt like a few random ideas were strung together within the novel, creating a choppy flow, such as the mob involvement, the enchanter war, Elias’ parents, and some risqué sex scenes. I’m still not sure why the mob was referenced, or even why the enchanters were at war; to me it just seemed that the story skipped around between different aspects of the characters lives, but they weren’t connected or explained to the point that I easily understood. I did reread half of the novel to make sure I wasn’t just missing vital information, but unfortunately I did not come across anything that I previously missed, so I have to say that, personally, this novel just isn’t for me.
Yet, even though the novel’s story didn’t draw me in, I must say that Burke is a beautiful writer. Her descriptions and writing style are superb, and I believe that she is a very talented writer and that many readers will enjoy her novels as she refines her stories, though I personally struggled with the novel. Two stars.
